I read a Substack yesterday by Hilarius Bookbinder, The Avg College Student Today. He stated that he did not blame the public school system. I think he's wrong. I think it is the public school system.

I also think it is parents who haven't taught their children work ethic and integrity. I think it is social media and phones.

I'm scared for our future.

I homeschooled my four children from K-12. Wasn't perfect but all of them are good ppl, hard working, and able to think.

The colleges are the filthy gulls feeding off the decomposing beached whale that used to be American meritocracy.

K12 killed the whale.

I totally agree. I'm a 15-year public school teacher, and now I've also been homeschooling my children for 3 years. The benefits of public school are minimal, and the side effects are devastating. Homeschooling is 100% worth it!

You said you took your kids out of school. Are you also homeschooling?

Nope. I moved to a Classical charter and took my kids with me. It's definitely better, but not better enough to keep me for much longer -- I can and should do more. I applaud you homeschooling parents. Keep on it. If you ever need resources for any topic related to history or lit or econ, lmk. <3

When you treat school like a minimum security prison, it shouldn’t be shocking that most come to see resistance to learning as the only meaningful response.

Have you noticed that the schools now have put up covers so that no one can see the kids playing on thee fenced in playgrounds?

I'm so over it all.
